The Leadership Vanguard is, perhaps, the only initiative on the planet where senior leaders from across industries and around the world collaborate intensively to incubate commercial solutions to the problems that threaten the future of growth.
Entering its third year in 2017, the Leadership Vanguard is spearheaded by a growing group of visionary leaders committed to reinventing growth by reinventing leadership. You can view a short introduction to the Leadership Vanguard in this video.
Founding chairman – Remi Eriksen, group president and CEO of DNV GL – has been joined by two stellar co-chairs: Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever; and Ajay Banga, president and CEO of MasterCard.
And confirmed partners for 2017 currently include: DNV GL, EDP (Energias de Portugal), Ericsson, International Committee of the Red Cross, MasterCard, Unilever and Woodside. Tata Consultancy Services has also joined the Leadership Vanguard 2017, becoming our first Indian partner. Economic Development Board (EDB) Singapore was a partner in 2015 and 2016.
Thanks to the reach and diversity of our partners, the Leadership Vanguard brings together an alchemy of groups from across industries, geographies and generations:
- Catalysts – next-generation leaders from across partner organisation
- Mentors – experienced leaders of global organisations
- Beacons – recognised thought-leaders from across sectors
- Pathfinders – innovators working outside global business to drive transformation
Leadership Vanguard catalyst explore emerging conflicts – each of which could represent structural weaknesses in our current growth paradigm. In 2016, we grouped these emerging conflicts into four ‘Frontiers’:
Each Frontier represents multiple ‘wicked problems’ – complex issues that are transforming societies and the operating context for Leadership Vanguard partners. Within each Frontier we are searching for the intersection between the greatest social needs and the strategic interests of the Leadership Vanguard partners. Catalysts then progress this work into systems intervention pilots.
