It's one thing to be an ambitious and purpose-driven individual, but being a transformational leader demands a wholly new set of capabilities.
Over the past three years, Xynteo's Leadership Vanguard has developed a model of competencies that can help leaders navigate the challenges of leading in the future. At the Leadership Vanguard Exchange in Berlin, we were joined by David Bodanis, Ilya Riaby, Vânia Bueno Cury and Jeremy Heimans to discuss these capabilities.
These visionary thinkers spoke about the global leadership deficit and shared their experience of using the competencies in the Vanguard leadership model.
Vania Bueno Cury, Founder, and CEO of Anima emphasised the importance of trust and collaboration: "to build a tribe, we need to build trust. To build trust, we need knowledge." She stressed that collaboration is about AND, not OR: "collaborations is about profit and welfare. Us and others. Business and sustainability". "One reason why top executives fail is that sometimes they're embarrassed to make mistakes," said Bodanis, futurist and best-selling author of `E=MC2: A Biography of the World's Most Famous Equation`.
Over the three-day exchange, the participants will experiment with and consider how they can apply these learnings in their organisations, which include Mastercard, Unilever, Shell, ICRC, DNV GL and EDP.
