Businesses can play a big role in solving the environmental and economic challenges we face, but to do so, they must embrace new forms of growth.

The transition to a sustainable and inclusive future is one of the most significant commercial opportunities ever seen. But, to achieve success, businesses and society must overcome challenges that are too big, too expensive, and too complex for any one company to tackle alone. Companies must adopt new models that advance commercial, environmental and social interests together. Growth works with, not against, nature; that benefits the many, not the few - and that builds opportunity and prosperity for all.

Representing major companies from a range of industries, Europe Delivers is committed to using our combined leadership and commercial capital to advance growth that works with nature, not against it; that benefits the many, not the few; and that creates value across generations, not quarters.

A relentless bias for action

From climate change to inequality, businesses can play a big role in solving these challenges. Europe Delivers is committed to this goal, and in 2022 we are focused on four impact tracks key to driving action in critical areas.

Talent and human prosperity

Top executives know that they cannot win without the right talent with the right skills - but the nature of work and employment is fast evolving.

How we work, where jobs are located and what is required to ensure a fair transition will continue to change as we move through this decade and beyond.

Digitally transformative growth

The impact of technological developments, such as AI, will significantly alter how labour is done — automating many tasks and give rise to new workflows.

To accelerate innovation, productivity, and fairer distribution of higher-paid jobs we must effectively transition to a human-centred digital future.

Decarbonisation of strategic sectors

Good progress has been made over the last decade in renewable power, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency in buildings throughout Europe.

To unlock the deep impact we need to reach net zero, the focus must now shift to accelerating the decarbonisation of more complex ‘hard-to-abate’ sectors like cement, aviation, and agriculture.

Sustainable and resilient value chains

Supply chain optimisation has unlocked incredible value for businesses and consumers, but this has often come at the cost of value chains that are fragile to shocks.

Today’s organisations must find and embrace opportunities to build more operationally resilient and environmentally friendly supply networks.
